The UK Sports Association for People with Learning Disability is unique – there is simply no other organisation in the UK that carries out the work that we do.
We are an essential part of the building blocks supporting athletes with learning disability through some local, regional and national competitions on route to the Commonwealth Games, Global Games and Paralympic Games. Our expertise, knowledge, influence and support makes a difference to the lives of so many young people and adults with learning disability around the UK as we enable them to enjoy and excel in the sport of their choice.
However, as the majority of our work does not benefit from lottery money or the millions of pounds available for sport in the UK, we are heavily reliant on the public’s donations as well as company support because without your support our work simply cannot continue!
There are lots of ways you can help us – so, please roll up your sleeves and get going!
We have a healthy volunteering and intern programme and it could be exactly what you are looking for. Take a look at our current volunteer opportunities and how to apply
You could join our dedicated fundraisers, the life blood of support for our work – whether office based, or indeed by fundraising in your local community or get your employers on board, or staff team to get involved! If fundraising isn’t your thing, why not become one of our regular donors or could make a one-off donation, which is certain to go a long way. All these different ways are simple and easy to set up – just get in contact.
None of us like to think of the day we leave this mortal world, but if you are getting organised and preparing a will, please consider making a gift to the UK Sports Association, or indeed a gift in memory of a friend or loved one will be gratefully received and sensitively acknowledged.
For the thrill-seekers amongst us, take part in one of our breathtaking adventure challenges – what better way to raise money for a good cause and notch another adrenaline event to your belt! There are also marathons to run, athletes or teams to sponsor – truly something to suit everyone’s time, capacity and interest!
However you choose to support the UK Sports Association, we welcome your ideas and commitment. Every penny, skill or commitment of time helps us to enable talented athletes with learning disability on their journey through sport. Without you we cannot achieve our goals – so we look forward to hearing from you!
