New addition to the UKSA intern team!

The UK Sports Association is delighted to welcome our new intern Ruby Streett Apicella.

Ruby joined UKSA at the beginning of June and is in the role of Communications and Media Officer. Ruby has come to UKSA from long-time partner Syracuse University. Modern day remote working is enabling Ruby to carry out her remote internship with us, whilst living in Madrid!  Ruby has already settled into her role, is giving us the benefit of her skills and making her mark on the work of UKSA.

Read more about Ruby in her short introduction below.

“Hi everyone! My name is Ruby Lou Streett Apicella and I am currently working as the UK Sports Association Communications and Media Officer. In this position, I will be producing social media and website content for UKSA, pitching creative ideas to actively engage audiences.

I have just finished up my third year of undergraduate school at Syracuse University, studying Advertising and Women and Gender Studies. I am currently taking summer classes in Madrid, Spain, while also working virtually for the UK Sports Association. Through my education in Women and Gender Studies, I have learned about the importance of social activism and hope to work towards creating a more just society where everyone is granted equal access.

I am thrilled to be working for the UK Sports Association and am looking forward to getting to know all the athletes. I hope to produce impactful work while interning with UKSA, and I know that I will continue to learn and grow through the organisation’s guidance.”
